Karma Totes' story begins with Anu, whose dedication to environmental sustainability has been a part of her life since childhood. She decided to channel her passion for the environment into something that could create a lasting impact.
Anu's goal was to reduce plastic waste while also creating opportunities for disadvantaged women. Karma Totes was born from this vision, using eco-friendly materials. Each tote is a testament to the artisans who preserve their crafts and the women who are gaining financial independence through their work.

My lifelong curiosity and commitment to education have always driven me, leading me to pursue two master’s degrees—one in India and another in the USA. I spent over two decades thriving in the corporate world, but my heart always remained connected to my roots. I’ve always had a deep passion for empowering disadvantaged women and preserving nature.
In 2023, I founded Karma Totes, a social enterprise in Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, where my own journey began. Karma Totes has since become a symbol of sustainability and hope, offering eco-friendly bags crafted by local women. Through my leadership, I’m dedicated to empowering these women, building a sisterhood of support and ambition, while also contributing to the preservation of our environment.
